Hazards In C1D1 And C1D2 Locations

By Larry Stone

Machines had helped in the improvement of a lifestyle of the humanity. You can see everywhere how everything becomes so advanced and progressive. The economy had changed, affecting the progression of a country. With more industries and businesses are discovered, more favorable circumstances come for the people. For that reason, many job positions are open to a company and individuals will just take it or not. Finding a job is crucial and you need to work hard for your own benefit. However, you still need to be careful at all times especially when you are working in a location like c1d1 or c1d2.

Almost everywhere contains a potential danger that people usually ignore or perhaps nobody cares about it at all. There are some places that can really put you in danger. One of that is working on a power plant or some factories. You might get physically hurt because you bumped on to something that is sharp and it hurt your knees. Or maybe you got poisoned after having a contact with a poisonous substance. Imagine these dangers that can totally ruin your life.

But what is a hazard? Basically, it is any source of potential damage or harm that will cause health effects on something or someone. There are many types of these hazards that can harm human beings from environmental to biological. A working area can be hazardous if it has gases, or flammable dust or liquids with adequate amount to generate a fire or even explosion. In hazardous locations, distinctively devised apparatus and special installation methods must be applied to defend against the flammable potential or explosive of these substances.

A mixture or compound exposed to abrupt chemical reaction, combustion or decomposition is what you called an explosive. By that definition, you could really say how that substance can be very dangerous to live creatures. Explosives are able to produce gases with high pressure and temperature and much larger than the original substance.

Explosions can occur on Class I. In this location, combustible vapors are or may be existent in the air in sufficient quantities to produce burnable mixtures or explosives. In addition, Class I locations are separated into two divisions and also three zones.

Class I Division 1, also contains flammable concentrations of ignitable vapors that may occur even in normal operation situations. It may happen because of a leak, repair, and maintenance. It can also happen when there is a disruption or errors in an operation.

Class I Division 2. This is also known as C1D2. In a C1D2 area, explosive ignitable gases or liquids are used. However, they are typically restrained in closed systems or vessels. It may also be a place where burnable concentrations of vapors are blocked with positive automated ventilation.

Those substances escaped only in a situation where there is an accident or a breakdown. In addition, C1D2 can be next or near to other division locations. The inflammable absorption of gases may be periodically present.

Keeping your workers safe is really recommended. If some casualties happen, the whole organization is still responsible for it. Prevention is better than cure as what humans always say. That is safety is always a priority.
