Using Round Cake Dummies For Decorating

By Frances White

These things are only used for when someone is practicing on decorating a cake. Why? Because it is easier to redo a mistake if the cake was made of Styrofoam instead of real bits. It would be a waste to the real cake if we just destroy it just because the design went wrong. So what better way than to use a dummy for this sort of thing instead? By using Round Cake Dummies.

For someone who has only started to really get into the cake making business, these are what you may need at the first stages. Designing and decorating is not as easy as it sounds like, especially if you have to do it on a flimsy cake that is so easily ruined with just the slightest of a wrong movement.

That makes things way easier for someone who is only starting become a cake baker. As much as fun as that career is, it is actually so grueling that it makes you sick just looking at anything remotely sweet. Also, it kind of takes away the novelty of eating cakes or any types of dessert that you see.

That is a bit of an exaggeration but you get the point. This is why we need the dummies as practice to decorate before we actually decorate the legit thing. If we go straight into coloring and decorating the actual thing, then the mistakes made on that will be irreversible. At least it will still b edible, right?

We could be wrong. Because there are also a lot of people who just find this their own passion. And who are we to tell people to stop doing what they love? That just makes us sound like a close minded parent who has too many expectations for their kid. So if this is what you aspire to do then go for it.

Even if you were in a different kind of career, people are still going to have so many expectations of you especially if you were someone known for your expertise. They will think that you have been doing great and amazing things and when they see your presentation, it was of no surprise that they will be disappointed.

Imagine being stuck in a really warm kitchen where there is n ventilation or windows that could keep you cool. Other cake decorators are stuck there with you trying to design their own fake cake. You spend hours and hours just to make sure that the thing is perfect and you have to go back and forth for the ingredients.

Your sweat even gets in the way of it all as well as the stuffy uniform they force you to wear while in that hellish kitchen. Try doing your work while hoping your own sweat does NOT get into the frosting. And if it does, do you know how stressful that is? What are you supposed to do?

And if you are finally good enough to move on, then try your hand at designing a real one. It should not be too hard now that you are great at it. Take your chances.
