Wood has been in existence since time began when God made the land the fruits and the trees. Lightning struck it to create fire and ancient man learned from it. Man used it for almost anything. Homes were built with this material as were weapons and tools. Great civilizations exported this to other civilizations. The most enduring and often used is the Eastern red cedar lumber.

Life on earth would not have flourish without it. It has survived despite being extensively used by man. The overuse can sometimes be attributed to it aesthetic beauty and functionality. Two kinds survive to this day, those that belong to the pine family and those that are fruit bearing.

Chemicals also come into play in treating it.

The cutting and felling of trees is now systematic and most activity is now being done by man operated machines. Such efficiency results in voluminous gathering of logs in a very short time. Conversion processing centers are also capable of handling high volume conversion for utilization in different forms and sizes.

This material has many uses and depending on what one uses it for and the quantity that is required. It is best to first canvass prices. Distribution centers for items can be found in almost all localities. Even small villages have some sort of lumberyard where customer can readily make a purchase. There are also large distributors that serve the needs of big constructions companies requiring large quantities. The atmosphere is composed in most part of oxygen. It sustains all life in the air breathed. The importance of have large areas of timberland cannot be overestimated. It is alarming that thick forests are becoming rarer as we see it being abused by man. Nations are trying to correct this effect by strictly monitoring the cutting of it and requiring establishments to plant seedlings to replenish forests.

Plant life on earth has existed since the beginning of time. Ancients learned how to make use of it. This commodity was valued then as now. Wooden ships plied the waters of this world, from small canoes, flat-bottomed boats to triremes and giant warships all made from this resource. Environmental awareness has caused man to be more conscious in the use of this. Conservation efforts are being made to save forests and jungles.
